Back home, and it is actully nice, so happy to see the kids and the fam again! Not that I don’t miss CA cause I really do, a lot! If there would be one place in the world where I would like to live it would probably be somewhere in California, maybe San Diego. So nice there even if we only where there for 1 day. Well I’m gonna write about the rest of the trip another day when I’m done fixing my pictures so we can have that picture marathon I promised earlier, think it will be later this week.
Today me and the girls went to Sport bounce, it’s a place where they have a lot of moon bounces and stuff, the kids love it! I have also been to Little. A’s school and talked about Sweden, they are having a international week and her teacher asked if I could tell them about Sweden. How do you tell 3-4 year olds about your country??? Not to easy but I think it went OK, Little. A put on the Pippi Longstocking costume that she had for Halloween and she told her class about Pippi, she was so proud of her self! The she told them how to say "Thank you very much" in Swedish, she know so much a bout Sweden and I was a very proud Au Pair! Just didn’t know that I would be so nervous talking in front of 3 year olds!
Yesterday Little. A put on my jewelry so I told her that she looked fancy just like a princess, but she said “No, I look fancy like Pippi Longstocking” haha she is so cute think that that is the first time Pippi been called fancy.

Walk Of Fame
Here we are at Ihop in South Bay, LA. Sam LOVES pancakes and so we had to make her happy since she is the driver (ask Jamie it is VERY important to stay friends with the driver, so that's why we are here) and since Sam likes to enjoy her food in slow motion I now finally have some time to write here, I don't meen it in a bad way I love for Sam to enjoy her food!
Today we checked out from our hostel at Hermosa Beach, it was the best location with a lot of fun bars right outside our door. The weather is great 75-80 F which I think is about 25 C, the sun is shining at all times and the beer is cold.
So this is what we have done in LA:
Tuesday: We relaxed all day at the beach and at the bars in our neighborhood and at night we went down to the bars again it was sooooooo nice I wish I could stay here forever!!
Wednesday: Today we went to Griffin park where we got a view over the city and we even saw the HOLLYWOOD sign...Then we went to a café that Jamie's host mom recommended being a good place to spot celebrities so of course we had to go there! It was kind of bizarre actually, because everyone there looked famous but we didn't know who they were...Jamie thought she saw someone from The Lord Of The Rings but I'm not sure...it was fun anyway! After that we went to the Walk Of Fame you know where the stars with the names on the ground are, it was really not that special but it's just something you have to see when you are here...next on the schedule was Beverly Hills and Rodeo Dr, you know where Julia Roberts go shopping in Pretty Woman. We keep our eyes opened for celebs again Sam was about to through us out because we where on her about driving slower so we could see better. We saw someone who looked like a model he most have been famous SOO HOT! Then we saw Dunkan in The hills which is a show in TV here, we actually drove next to him for a long time! At night we wanted to go to Santa Monica or Venice Beach and we did but it was completely dead there so we went back to our favorite bar again
I will have to write about Thursday and Friday (today) later because now Sam is done eating!
Today we are going to see the recording of Two and A Half Men and then we are driving to San Diego!

Vegas, Grand Canyon and LA
Hola!
So now I'm in LA, and it's so nice here the weather is great, been at the beach all day!
Maybe I should start from the beginning of our trip...We started of in Vegas which was great! Our hotel was ok, just a lot of old people there...but it was cheap. We party, gambled (just the slots but sill haha!) and walked around! There is no words for Vegas it's just crazy!
Yesterday (mon) we stared early after like 3h of sleep, our plan was to go to the Grand Canyon and then straight from there to LA...It's 5h from Vegas to the Grand Canyon and 8h from Grand Canyon to LA...and only Sam can drive so it was going to be a long day! On our way from Vegas we also stopped at Hover Dam (spelling?) and we also drove on the historic 66, like in the movie "Cars". When we got to the Grand Canyon it was SNOWING!!! So weird driving in the dessert in the snow!! It was so bad because you couldn't see anything....I was really sad because going to the Grand Canyon has been a dream of mine for a long time! So we drove around a little just to see if it got better but no...Then the amazing thing happened and just before we were about to leave it all cleared up and it was the most amazing view ever! My eyes got lost and my mind was blank it was like nothing I've seen before. I can't describe it in words and you can't see it in pictures it's just so amazing! I heard a woman say "I think the most popular word here is WOW" and I agree I think that OMG is close by too...After that we drove to LA and got here at 2:30 am we live right at the beach sooo nice! our hostel is Ok and so far we have our own room...we are staying here until Fri. and then we are driving to San Diego.

Vegas Baby!
Woho! Only a few hours left to go before the shuttle comes and picks us up to take us to the airport. Since we are gonna be picked up at 4:20 Jamie see no reason for us to sleep so now we are going to a bar...humm well I guess we can sleep on the airplane. I will try to write a little when we are away but you will have to wait for pictures untill I get home then maybe we will have a picture-marathon...

March 18th
Today started early, or really it started just as early as any other day. But today had had my appointment at the gym at 8:30 so me and the girls could not do our usual slow nice morning routine, instead we had to leave the house at 8....It was nice to have the workout done early though...when we got home Mini H. got on the school bus and me and Little A went to play with Mags and Little D. It was nice as always, they play real nice together and Little A loves to go there, they have all the Barbie that she wants and of course she likes to play with Little D. I like to go there too, because I get to see Mags and drink coffee, thank you!
I was wrong last time I wrote that I went to my last Au Pair meeting, we had one more today. Just wanted to make that clear so you all get the facts right...
Otherwise there isn’t much going on except a million things that I need to get done before my vacation that starts Saturday, today I made a list of everything I need to bring and tomorrow I will start packing...for all I know we still don’t have a hotel in Vegas, JAMIE!!

St. Patty’s day!

y it is St. Patrick’s Day, don’t really know why they celebrate it in the States since it’s an Irish holiday, I guess it’s just another excuse to drink and what is really wrong with that?!
So it has been a green theme today and the kids had to dress in green...This morning Little A. had a playdate which is really special for her because it doesn’t happen very often, so I dropped her of there and then me and Mini H. went to find her a green St. Patty’s day shirt at Target. When we got home she went to school and I had quiet time with my self…At least I tried but my phone kept on ringing, mostly because it’s so much to fix for the trip this weekend so it was okay. I had a good workout in the basement since I didn’t have a car, very proud of myself!
Tonight we went to Fridays it was nice we where a lot of people there and it is always nice to see everybody! Everything was green even the beer and they had a quiz about St. P. day…
Now I have to locate my bed under all of my clothes and see if I can go to sleep so I can be a happy Au Pair tomorrow!

Monday again, quite nice actually...not that I don't enjoy the weekend but it has been a nice day with the kids. Me and Mags had a GREAT time in NYC, I'm not going to bore you with all the things that we saw or did, I'm just going to leave it with that it was a lot of fun!
Wile we where gone I had gotten a mail from my mom saying that they where planning to come here in June, what a surprise! A wile ago I tried to convince them to come in the summer but it sounded like they decided not to, but "yey" they are coming. I'm not just happy that they will come because I miss them, I will see them before anyway, it’s more because I really want them to meet my family here. This family means so much to me and I want my parents to know who they are, so I'm very happy that they decided to come! When I told my kids that my mom and dad where coming the first thing they asked was: "is Jimbo coming?" haha I guess that I've brain washed them a little. Told them that he would love to come but that he couldn't come on the air plane, Little A. thought that since he is so big he could walk here...when I told here that the problem might be that there is a big ocean in between she thought he could jump, so cute!
I really haven't done much today, still tired from the weekend and I got home late last night. Me and Little A. fell asleep in the couch for a little bit before lunch and otherwise all I've done is unpack...and played with horses a game that Little A. likes, a mommy horse, a daddy horse, baby horse and a sister horse. The funny thing is that she plays the exact same game with cars hihi!
I'm exited to go to Vegas on Saturday and I can't believe that it is so soon!! Don't really feel like I'm on top of things since the only thing we really booked so far is the flight...wopsi! It will work out I'm sure but all the small problems are bothering me a little, I'm just happy that I have the best of friends to travel with and I know that we will have a good time no matter what, or what do you say Sam and Jamie?

So cute when she is sleeping!
Today I and Little A have been all by our self all morning because Mini H went to a friend’s house. I packed for NY and Little A entertained me. Since I’m going to NY today I couldn’t make it to the gym so instead me and Little A took a walk, Up a hill and down a hill my legs really got a god workout. Little A fell asleep all bundle up in the stroller, so wish I was her it looked sooo nice. She is still sleeping and I’m now done packing. Mags will get here by 3 and then we are leaving for NY. Now I need to go to get the last things ready, see you when I come back!!

Happy Birthday Baby C!
Every now and then things happen that makes you realize how important it is to live your life to the fullest, to make the best of everyday. What is today might no be tomorrow, we all need to take care of our loved ones and our selves. There is a lot on my mind lately…But still it just got to be turned in to a reminder of how valuable life is. Everyday life just rushes by us and often on Fridays you wonder where the week went and even though this might sound good because you now have the whole weekend in front of you, don’t we also stop on Sunday night and wonder where the weekend went? You get my point…enough of life lessons; I just had to get it of my chest.
Yesterday I was very effective and got all the kids sheets washed, even the girl‘s clothes. I also run 3 miles again but this time it was very hard, my legs where still tired from Monday and it was very windy, but I did it! After work I was going to my previous host family because it was Baby C’s first birthday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY Baby C!
It was very nice I miss them a lot! I even got to meet their grandparents again, they are so nice! Fran’s mom makes the BEST rolls (Swedish: bullar) in the entire world, I’m telling you they are to die for! The rest of the food was also very good of course, as always! Baby C got his own little cake to play with which he seemed to enjoy. I stayed there all night to watch Idol, the right people got eliminated according to me.
Today I finished the rest of the laundry and then I had my personal trainer at 1pm as always on either Tuesday or Thursday. It has helped me a lot and absolutely been well worth the money. She almost killed me today, maybe that’s a little bit of an exaggeration let’s just say that I got a good workout! Tonight something happened that is very rare, I made dinner for my family, the first time in this house actually, I know it’s bad. Since I’ve been here for more than 8 months now, it was about time! I made pork tenderloins with blue cheese sauce and fettuccini pasta, Yummy! They all liked it and I didn’t set the kitchen on fire, 5 gold stars to me!
Tomorrow I and Mags are going to NYC, yeah!!

My body HURTS!
Okay so I sat here and wrote a long nice story about my very uneventful day and then I messed it up so it all disappeared…I refuse to write it again but I can sum it up for you:
- I’ve been home all day
- I workedout in the basement, did alright but not great
- I’m very sore in my legs from my run yesterday
- Every time I walk up the stairs I’m trying to convince myself that it feels great to be sore after a workout…
- The kids have been good but loud!
- I’m going to watch Idol tonight, and just stay home :)
Don’t know how I manage to turn that in to all of what I wrote before, maybe it was good that it all went away so I didn’t bore you…
Now I’m gonna have dinner!

This song carried me up the last hill of my 3 mile run today. Where I live there is a lot of hills so after my run my legs are now completely dead, it feels good though!
The weather has been so nice the last few days the spring is in the air and my body is full with energy. We have been playing outside all day today or the kids have been playing and I’ve been sitting in the sun showing of my extremely white and unshaved legs, very attractive. Seriously when I roll up my pants the world become a brighter place, and it’s not like a few hour in the sun is gonna change that!
Tonight I met Maria, Mags and Kajsa at Starbucks, Maria will be going home wile I’m on vacation and before that she is going to Hawaii so I had to say good bye to her tonight…It’s a little strange cause I have been here for 1 year and 8 months now and during that time I have only had to say good bye to two of my close friends. Most of my friends are still here and a few has been here just as long as me. In March and May 5 of my friends are going home I’m going home to but I’m coming back again…It’s very sad and it will be so empty without them here, I can’t really understand that soon it will all come to an end. This feels so much like home now and a day here is now my normal, I don’t even want to think about leaving my two amazing families here and luckily enough I don’t have to worry about that until August…May is going to be a month with a lot of hard good byes. SO MAY PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM ME!!!!!
The only good news I have this week is that me and Mags have decided to go to NYC this weekend, yeah!
Now I really need to sleep cause I need to get big Z on the school bus by 7:15 tomorrow morning, it’s so early for him I think. Life for a second grader is definitely harder here then in Sweden, Early mornings and a lot more homework then at least I had when I was 7, Big Z spends about 30 min doing homework everyday…But he is a ROCK STAR and he is doing a very good job. Think that I have forgot to mention that I take care of the best kids in the world, just thought you should know!

Sunday
So today I had an Au Pair meeting, it was my last one before I go home. To be honest I haven't been to that many of them lately...because of that I now felt guilty so I had to go. We are only like 5 in my group and today we where 3 plus Mags who was nice enough to come with me, Thanks! We were suppose to go snow tubing but since it's so warm outside (today it's been 77F or 25 C) we decided not to. Instead we went to Frederick, MD for brunch. Very nice actually, there where some nice small stores too so I found a nice pair of sunglasses that I got, wii! Really I can't spend money right now because I need to save money for Vegas but sunglasses are very hard to find so when I find a pair that I like I have to buy them! I also got a new bikini today.....it's the same thing with the bikini, it's really hard to find so when I do I just have to buy it...
Anyway, I'm not gonna spend any more money this week!

Do you wanna smell my syrup?
So that was the joke that kept us laughing at IHOP, 2:30am this morning. That was after a few beers and shots so that might explain the lack of good humor. We had a good time me, Jamie and her friend Branka. We just went to a the bar that they always go to in old town Alexandria and then we somehow ended up at IHOP, don't know how I did it but I manage to eat a hole serving of French Toast which I can only finish half of on a normal day...GREAT ELIN, you just destroyed all that hard work at the gym all week!

Are you here to stay?
I think that the weather gods have a hard time making up their minds! Monday the kids where home from school because it was snowing and we where making snow angels and having snowball fights. Today we had to pull out our summer clothes because spring decided to come. We have been playing at a playground close to us all afternoon and all the kids’ friends where there too so it was a hit! The question is, is the spring here to stay?
It has been a very busy day, all morning I was washing clothes. in between washes I had to be a counselor for the three girls (Mini H. had a friend over) and their disagreements on who was going to play with what "pet shop". After Mini H. and her friend got on the bus I and Little A. went to the gym. I did all right not super but it was good... After the gym we did some errands and then we went home, Big Z. and Mini. Got home from school and it has been nonstop since...
Now kids’ clothes need to be put away and then I need to get ready! I'm going to Alexandria to visit my wonderful friend Jamie and we are going to a bar close to her. Since I'm now 21 and legal in this country I can actually enjoy a night out!
I'm already late so I should really get going! 
It has been a very busy day, all morning I was washing clothes. in between washes I had to be a counselor for the three girls (Mini H. had a friend over) and their disagreements on who was going to play with what "pet shop". After Mini H. and her friend got on the bus I and Little A. went to the gym. I did all right not super but it was good... After the gym we did some errands and then we went home, Big Z. and Mini. Got home from school and it has been nonstop since...
Now kids’ clothes need to be put away and then I need to get ready! I'm going to Alexandria to visit my wonderful friend Jamie and we are going to a bar close to her. Since I'm now 21 and legal in this country I can actually enjoy a night out!
I'm already late so I should really get going!

Cinderella
Been watching two other kids tonight a boy 6 and a girl 3, or wait a minute 3½, very important! Anyway, the girl is obsessed with Cinderella at the moment. We were having a tea party with her dolls and babies, I had to write down all the names of those who were coming and let just say that 50% of the names where Cinderella and the rest was named Kelly...
So after my excellent workout at the gym earlier today my butt is now a lot firmer and I now look like a supermodel, sure I WISH...I really do wish, wouldn't that be great! Well I just got to work hard for a few more, years ghaaa...I have been so good at the gym now for like almost 10 weeks, and sure I can feel the difference, it just takes so long!
Today I been hurting myself a lot don't know why I've just been very clumsy. It stared this morning when I almost fell down the stairs, I kind of slipped down 10 steps on my heels and managed to hold on which twisted my arm and hurt my shoulder...Then when I was driving home from the gym I almost hit an idiot who didn't stop at a stop sign, and it was close I had to slam the breaks so hard! The last thing that hurt me was when I was watching the kids tonight we where playing outside and I was on one of those small silver kickboards, so there was a small rock on the ground and the wheel got stuck so my knee slammed in to the steering thing, it really hurt and now I have a big bruise.... so here I am all banged up with a hurting shoulder and a bruised knee but still I’m alive right!
Time for bed, got I lot to do tomorrow!

Swedish Pancakes
Today for lunch I made Swedish pancakes, Yummy! I flip them in the air and the kids love to watch it, we also colored in coloring books...being an Au Pair is a good excuse to do all those things you loved to do as a kid but since you now are suppose to be a grown up you can't do any more, I love coloring! Little A. fell a sleep on the couch poor thing must have been really tired and Mini H. where hanging out with me.
Now it's time to take Little A. to school and I'm going to the gym to literally work my butt off! Today I'm doing the butt blaster workout did the same one Tuesday and my butt is really SORE!

A Wednesday night
It's Wednesday which means cardio day, so tonight I ran 3 miles (5km), very proud of my self I must say! We have a treadmill in the basement that I use. I like running my only problem is that I get bored fast so to prevent this I now download a show to my iPod that I can watch wile I'm running, smart right!? So now I can run for a long time, the thing is that I'm going home soon and so I need to get in shape before. I can't go to America for 2 years and then come home fat!
It’s been a good day today, I got to sleep in and later on I and little A. went to Mags's house to play. I got lunch and Coffee and little A. had a lot of fun! I think that she can play with anything or anyone her imagination is amazing it's just wonderful to watch her.
Now I'm watching a new show called "Lie to me" it's quite good actually, soon I will crawl in to bed...

Decisions?!
Okay, so I Ida Elin Martensson am officially joining the world of blogging.
I didn't realize how many decisions I would have to make to start a blog and those who know me know that I'm really bad when it comes to decisions, so this has taken me a wile... I mean it's important stuff cause somehow this blog is my face to the world, right!? Well anyway i will be writing in English so all of my friends and family can understand, and it will also give me a chance to improve my English in writing...so now when I got all that said, let the blogging begin...
