A wonderful day in Sweden

I had a great day today, this is what I have done (I’m lazy today, don’t feel like writing...):

• I woke up!


• I had breakfast, OUTSIDE, cereal and “fil” which you English speaking people don’t know what it is and I can’t explain it…and I also had my mom’s home made strawberry jelly with that!


• I took a walk with Jimbo in the woods, Very nice!


• I had coffee, OUTSIDE!


• I continued from yesterday to clean my closet…I imagine my closet to be empty but when


• I came home it was full!!! So before I even could unpack I had to clean it…Yesterday I took


• all of it out and today I started to but things back again, almost done but not quite…I NEED A BIGGER CLOSET!!


• Then I had “knäckebröd” with cheese and cucumber…


• I took a shower


• I walked Jimbo


• I called Hannah!


• Hannah was in Lund just where I planed to go! YEY!


• I met Hannah, her cousin Veronica and Hannah’s gorgeous baby boy Elias, Finally!
  



• We had coffee.


• We walked around a little in Lund (really only to find somewhere to change Elias diaper but still...)


• Hannah and Elias came home with me, YEY!


• Played with Elias


• Had dinner


• Said good bye to Elias and Hannah, and we decided that they were gonna come over tomorrow, YEY!


• I watch TV


• And now here I’m…

Welcome to Sweden!

Been i Sweden for about 1,5 day now, and it has been really nice to see family and friends again (don’t worry I will come back!). Jimbo didn’t recognize me…. But that’s ok it was fun to see him and soon we will be best friends again! My Flight went alright, I had a lot of luggage and it was a little overweight but the nice woman that checked me in saw how desperate I was and said that it was ok and I didn’t had to pay…YEY! On my flight between London and Copenhagen butterflies started to build up inside me and I got exited! It was so nice to finally be home, the flight felt long and boooooring! Yesterday I took it easy with the parents and Emma, and this morning the rest of the family came over for brunch so nice to see everyone. It was like a mini birthday because some gave be birthday gifts that were meant for me on my birthday in Feb.… My cousins have gotten so big I can’t believe it!!
Well I can’t write much longer because I need to get to bed… Tonight I and my dad took a nice walk with Jimbo by the ocean it has been a beautiful evening we even had dinner outside! I will write again soon, miss you all in the US!

I will miss you Aimi!!

I think that you want an explanation for my last post...You are probably thinking , well Elin you can’t be the dumbest person on this planet…After I tell you why I’m sure you will agree with me…..
So I went to this store to get new running shoes, at the store they have you run a little on a treadmill, to watch how your feet balance and then they get you the shoes you need. Got a great pair. I pay and go to my car but I couldn’t find my car keys because my purse is a MESS! I put the shoes on the top of the car.....here it comes your AHA moment and when you realize that I really am the dumbest person on this planet....and of course I forgot the shoes and drive off.....didn’t notice until night and I went back to look but couldn’t find them.....ELIN YOU IDIOT!!! Well there you go laugh at me all you want!! I went back yesterday and got a new pair, because I really needed a new pair! THE END!

Yesterday we went to Fridays for the Thursday night quiz, and guess what...WE WON!! Maybe we got a little help…but still, we won!
After that I had to say good bye to Aimi….so sad can’t even write this without crying! I will miss you girl! She will go home wile I’m in Sweden, gonna be so empty when I come back….

Happy Birthday Little A.!!!

Today was Little A’s 4th birthday, the first thing she told me this morning was:
“Look Elin how tall I am, just because I’m four now.”
I have been really nice to her today and she has done a lot of thing she normally doesn’t, for example when she asked me for a snack 30 min after breakfast and I normally say NO, today I said YES…When she wanted to watch TV in the middle of the day and I normally say NO, today I said YES! So her day has been really special hehe…
Yesterday I asked her what she wanted for breakfast for her birthday, it could be what ever she wanted, and this was her answer:
“I want a big, big, big bowl of cereal”
Haha in this house we get exited over the small things!
Today me and Little A also went to get her surprise, the same thing I did for Mini H on her birthday, we went to Tyson’s corner and made a “build a bear”…I hope that it can be a good memory from me, I told them that when ever they miss me they can hug their bear and it will feel all better, Little A chose a rabbit and named her Peach, real cute actually. Then she got lunch at Mc Donald’s, so she was very happy! Tonight some of her friends and their families came over for cake and then we all fell fast a sleep…or the rest of them did at least, I’m still up even though I wish that I could fall “fast asleep”….Packed one bag tonight…it feels like I have so much to do and time is moving far to fast!!
Now I need to sleep…natti natti!

The weekend and old pictures

I have really had a great weekend with the aussies Amy and Fiona, we didn’t cry even once which I’m very proud of!
It’s so strange and bizarre that I’m going to Sweden on Friday, I don’t know what to expect which makes my mind very confused…I’m happy but also sad, I’m worried but it’s also gonna be a relief…In the beginning of my time here all I could think about was how nice it would be to be home, to be able to relax. Now it feels like I have come so far from that time and I can’t even think of things I miss…(except family and friends of course) instead I keep thinking about things I will miss from here, and they are so many!
I’m very happy that I decided to go as an Au Pair even if it was nothing like I’d expected it to be, it has been a long time and a lot have happened I have learned so much and now when I go though old papers and things I must say that I’m very proud of myself. I have been close to go home a few times, even very, very close, but it all worked out and got so much better.
I promised myself when I started this blog not to write about thins like this, you know feelings and thoughts, just because I normally doesn’t like to read about things like that myself…But I don’t know what else to write about at the moment so if you get bored, I’m sorry!
I was gonna upload some pictures from the weekend but I didn’t really had that many that I liked so…instead here is some pictrues from a few weekends ago when we where at Cherry Blossom festival:

Night owl!

Amy and Pina are sleeping and I’m not even tired….they call me a night owl but HELLO it’s only like 1:30am!
Today we went in to DC to visit Museum of American History, it was nice I have some pictures I will show you tomorrow because they are still only in my camera…Sam was with us too but she had to go home tonight. It was the last weekend in DC for me Pina and Amy… At least together…SO SAD!!
Now I’m gonna try to sleep, natti natti!

April 15th

My last two days have been very uneventful and I don’t really know what to write about…last night I met Aimi at Fridays which was very nice, going to miss you so much!! That’s about how exiting it gets….
One thing that I’ve realized lately is that I have found a new enemy or it’s not really new but we are definitely disagreeing more now then ever before…SPACE! And I don’t mean outer space but just normal space….Constantly the little popup in the right corner of my screen comes up telling me I’m running out of space and need to delete unnecessary files, which I then do. A wile ago I went through all my pictures and deleted like 5000 of them, but it’s not just the space on my computer that is fighting with me when you really think about it space is always our enemy on the TiVo, camera, closet….but worst of all at least for now is my suite cases! So space is a big enemy that I and I’m guessing most of us always fight...grrr!
There we go, I found something to write about…


even out cat Holly is disagreeing with space since she now only barely can fit in the napkin holder that she liked to sleep in when she was little…

Easter

Back home again, or not all the way home in Sweden but soon I will be in Sweden too!!
Easter was great and I have tons of good pictures, just not enough time to edit them all! We had a lot of fun in Atlanta even though Little A. got sick for a few days. I experienced my second tornado warning and had to hide in the basement or maybe I should say “I survived” my second tornado waring. SCARY so glad we don’t have that stuff at home in Sweden! It was thundering A LOT, I mean if you are from Sweden and have not experience thunder anywhere else I will tell you, you don’t know what thunder is! Hail (Swedish: Hagel) was also coming down, but not normal hail I’ve seen before Oh no, these were as big as golf balls! The picture below is taken maybe 10 or 15 minutes after the hail actually came down and it was melting fast, so you can only imagine…well anyway, moving on…
My head feels a little confused at the moment lots of things going on in there…It is gonna be so much fun to come home but it’s also kind of scary… it was 1 year and 10 months ago I was home and I was only 19 and it was 2007…can you believe it, I sure can’t…This is home now, don’t worry mom real, real home will always be Sweden, but still this is my everyday life now…Butterflies are starting to move in my stomach and sometimes I wonder if they are also confusing my mind. I’m so glad that I am coming back even if it only for a short time. Could not imagine saying goodbye to everyone here right now… So now it’s 11 days until I put my foot in Sweden again!

I have lots of pictures I want to upload but not enough time so pictures from Cheery blossom festival and more from Easter will come soon!
